You are connected to Rhiannon, who appears in the First and Third Branch of the Mabinogi, in Welsh mythology. Her name is thought to mean the \\"Great Queen\\" and from this, we catch glimpses of her former glory. Rhiannon was probably an Otherworld Queen whose birds, we are told, had the power to lull the living to sleep and wake the dead. In this way, she rules over the power of dreams, music, and all the enchantments and beauty of the Otherworld. In the stories we have of her though, Rhiannon as woman, would not settle for less than what she wanted or was worthy of her. This does not mean in an egotistical sense barging in and selfishly demanding the impossible from others. What it does mean is having the insight and self-knowledge enough to know what she needs to be fully herself, and she is not willing to hand over her authenticity to anyone else, even at the expense of being in opposition to her family and her people. In the end, Rhiannon married the man of her choosing and throughout future (unjust) persecutions, she still retained her sense of worth and rightness. She is the unconquerable spirit who cannot be broken in, much like the wild horses associated with her. Rhiannon rules over wisdom and tact, especially when dealing with insatiable desires in oneself and other people, the power of dreams, visions and inspiration, justice and balance, fairness, patience, redemption, nurturing a relationship with Death, horses and birds, gold and yellow (inferring the divine, the luminous, the inspiring), riding, motherhood, confrontation through cleverness and mental/spiritual agility, not necessarily physical prowess, using your weaknesses (be they actual or apparent) to your advantage, hope in the midst of despair, and overall, the nature of Life Herself.
